How are these MLB fields funded?
As I walked into Coors Field, I started to look around and realize something. Everything
in these stadiums, are big and grand. Building these fields must cost a fortune! So I
looked into how they are typically funded a little, and was surprised with my results.
The main way that these fields are built, is with private money. Private companies, or
people with a lot of money, can step up and fund the whole thing themselves. There is
of course also the option of collaboration. Taxpayer changes can be petitioned, but are
often turned down, simply because people don't want to pay for those kinds of luxuries,
and they must follow the wishes of the public. Loans can be taken out of the city as well.
Often, a mix of private and public money are used to build these grand fields.
Coors Field is said to have costed $300 Million to build.
